The Big Lick Train Tug!  Saturday, September 24th 2022 at 10am at the Virginia Museum of Transportation.  There is NO admission fee to attend and watch the competition/enjoy the event!

1.  Competing:  You may contact us prior to signing up – email at [email protected] or call 540.793.3354. Competition details can be found here:  https://biglicktraintug.com/compete/

Competitors must reach appropriate goal in order to compete.  All competitors must sign a waiver on site and provide their own gloves (if you wish to use gloves).

2.  Donating: People who want to donate to your team can either send a check to the PCC with your team name on the memo line or donate through the PCC website at https://www.pccse.org – be sure to include in “add a note” the team you are donating to!

3.  Event Details:  Event will be open to the public beginning at 9am.  Competition will start at 10am.  No outside food or beverages allowed.  Folding chairs are welcome.  Service animals only.  No tents. No refunds.

Listed below are some things to be aware of as we get closer to the event.

TEAM CAPTAIN MEETING – PLEASE SEND A REPRESENTATIVE OF YOUR TEAM TO PRESBYTERIAN COMMUNITY CENTER ON TO BE ANNOUNCED DATE:  We ask that captains (and any other members who care to join us) for a team meeting at The Presbyterian Community Center at 1228 Jamison Ave SE, Roanoke, VA. Date coming soon. At that meeting, we would like to get team members’ t-shirt sizes and completed waivers turned in. Waivers will be available on the website or sent to you by email – you can also email your waivers to [email protected] 
We encourage you to encourage team mates to solicit donations for your team. There is a minimum of $1,000.00 needed to pull the train. People who want to donate to your team can either send a check to the PCC with your team name on the memo line or give through the website by hitting DONATE, The TEAM, pick your team, Donate and then complete the info. Money needs to be raised by September 24th 2022. A separate “champion fundraiser” trophy will be given to the team that raises the most money!
Are you a church team asking members to contribute checks? If so, make sure your church treasurer knows about this event and they have made arrangements to get all money for the Train Tug received in the church office to the PCC.
